Overview
This guide walks you through the essential setup steps to start running advertising campaigns in your DSP account. Follow these steps in order for the smoothest setup experience.
Step 1: Configure General Settings
Go to Settings in the side menu and configure:
- Date Format: Choose your preferred date display format and timezone for the account
- Default Tech Fee: Set a universal tech fee percentage if you charge fees on all advertiser bids (optional)
These settings provide account-wide defaults that can be customized per advertiser or inventory source later.
Step 2: Create Business Partners (Optional)
Business partners help organize your clients and inventory sources (external sources relevant from DSP pro account level and above) while managing analytics access and technical compliance (ads.txt, SCHAIN).
When to create:
- You have clients who need analytics dashboard access
- You need to manage the ads.txt records for inventory sources
- You want to organize multiple advertisers or inventory under business entities
How to create: See the Business Partners Guide
Step 3: Set Up Inventory Sources
GamoshiX Marketplace (Pre-configured)
Your account includes the GamoshiX Marketplace inventory by default - providing immediate access to ad inventory.
Default campaign setup: All new campaigns are automatically created with the virtual audience 'All Traffic', which gives your campaigns access to all available inventory sources in your account, including GamoshiX Marketplace.
Best practice: Keep 'All Traffic' as your default audience and use the campaign's Filtering & Targeting and Lists tabs to refine your targeting. This ensures you don't miss valuable traffic opportunities while maintaining precise control over ad delivery.
External Inventory (Optional)
If you have additional traffic sources (direct publishers, SSPs, custom integrations):
- Follow the Inventory Creation Guide.
- Configure integration type, pricing, and targeting
- Generate integration components to share with partners
- External inventory automatically becomes available through the 'All Traffic' audience
Step 4: Create Your First Advertiser
Advertisers are your clients or buyer accounts that will run campaigns.
Quick start:
- Go to Advertiser Module → Advertisers List
- Click '+' to create new advertiser
- Complete the General tab with basic information
- Configure optional settings: Filtering & Targeting, Capping, Lists
Detailed instructions: See How to create an advertiser.
Step 5: Create and Configure Campaigns
After creating an advertiser, set up campaigns to define how and where ads will run.
Campaign essentials:
- Set total budget, start date, and end date (all required)
- Optionally add daily/hourly budgets for additional control
- Choose traffic sources (as default 'All traffic' is associated)
- Set bid pricing (ECPM)
Detailed instructions: See How to create a campaign.
Step 6: Add Creatives
Campaigns need active creatives (ads) to serve traffic.
Supported formats:
- Banner (image, HTML)
- Video (video file, VAST)
- Audio (audio file, VAST)
Quick setup:
- Go to advertiser's Creatives tab
- Create a new creative with your ad content
- Associate a creative with your campaign
- Set creative to "Active" status
Detailed instructions: See How to Create a Creative →
Step 7: Monitor Performance in Analytics
Once campaigns start receiving traffic, monitor performance in the Analytics Module.
Key analytics screens:
- Today Tab: Real-time trends and hourly run rates
- BI Tab: Flexible reporting with custom filters and dimensions
- Performance Tab: Advertiser and inventory performance metrics
Set Up Analytics Users (Optional)
Grant dashboard access to clients or partners:
- Go to Users Module → Analytics Users tab
- Create an analytics user associated with a business partner
- User gets limited access to their own data only
Detailed instructions: See Analytics Users Guide →
