Overview

The Targeting Module allows you to create and manage allowlists and blocklists for controlling ad targeting across your account. Lists can be applied globally or to specific entities like advertisers, inventory, creatives, and business partners.

Creating a List

Basic Steps:

  1. Go to Targeting ModuleLists tab
  2. Click '+' icon in top-right corner
  3. Enter list name and select list type
  4. Add at least one data record
  5. Click 'Create'

Where Lists Can Be Applied:

  • Account level: Global blocklists affecting entire account
  • Advertisers/Inventory: Entity-specific targeting
  • Creatives: Ad-level filtering
  • Business Partners: Partner-specific controls

Note: Different entities support different list types - see List types & validations reference for details.

Managing Data Records

Adding/Removing Records:

Manual Updates:

  • Use Edit action to add records
  • Use Data Records icon to add/remove/download records

File Upload:

  • File format: CSV or TXT (max 10MB)
  • One value per line
  • For CSV: only first column is processed
  • Invalid values and duplicates automatically omitted

File Upload Requirements:

  • Values must match list type (e.g., valid domains for Domain lists)
  • Automatic validation ensures data quality
  • Invalid entries are skipped during upload

Disabling Validation (Advanced)

When needed: Exceptional cases requiring non-standard values

Available for: Manual entry only (not file uploads)

How to disable:

  1. Click Data Records icon for your list
  2. Click '+' to add new records
  3. Click 'Disable Validation' button
  4. Add your values

⚠️ Use with caution - only when absolutely necessary

Important Notes

Changes Affect All Associated Entities

Any update to list data records automatically affects all advertisers, campaigns, or other entities using that list.

Alternative Management

All list actions in the Targeting Module can also be performed directly from individual entity forms (Advertiser, Inventory, etc.).
