Overview

Lists can be associated with multiple entities (advertisers, inventory, campaigns, creatives, business partners) to control targeting. A list must contain at least one data record before it can be associated.

Creating an Association

From Targeting Module:

  1. Go to Targeting ModuleAssociations tab
  2. Click '+' icon in top-right corner
  3. Select List Type first (enables other fields)
  4. Choose Entity Type (only relevant entities shown based on list type)
  5. Select specific entities to associate
  6. Choose Mode: Allowlist (include) or Blocklist (exclude)
  7. Click Apply

Alternative Methods:

From Lists Tab:

  • Use the 'Associate a List' row action on any list

From Entity Forms:

  • Business Partners: Use 'Lists' row action
  • Advertisers/Inventory/Campaign: Use 'Lists' tab in create/edit form
  • Creatives: Use the Creatives tab in the Advertiser form

Managing Associations

Pausing an Association

Effect: Temporarily removes list restrictions without deleting the association

  • Allowlist: Temporarily removes included values
  • Blocklist: Temporarily removes excluded values
  • Can be reactivated anytime

Removing an Association

Effect: Permanently removes list restrictions from associated entities

  • The list itself and its data records remain intact
  • Only the targeting restrictions are lifted

Key Points:

  • Lists can have multiple associations across different entities
  • Changes to list data affect all associated entities
  • Pausing preserves associations for easy reactivation
  • Removing associations doesn't delete the list itself
