Lists - General description

The Targeting module enables users to easily control and manage their allow and block lists at all levels: from the account level, Advertisers, Inventory & Business partners, down to a single Campaign or Creative.

Users can create and associate allow and block lists from the 'Targeting' module as well as create global blocklists at the account level.
First, you need to create a list and add at least one data record to it in order to enable the association of your new list with entities in your account.

How to create a list?

  1. Go to the Targeting module -> Lists tab.
  2. Press the '+' icon on the top right corner of the table grid. A 'Create a list' form will be presented.
  3. Fill in the list name, choose a type and enter at least one data record. Press 'Create'.
  4. Once the list is created, you can associate it with entities in your account.
We support lists at the account level (global blocklist), Advertisers/Inventory, Creatives, and Business Partners.
Each entity in the system can be associated with different list types.
The full list of supported types and validations is detailed in the table below.
  5. Data records can be updated at any time. Users can add/remove records manually or by uploading a file. This can be done either in edit mode (edit row action), where you can add more data records or by using the Data records row action icon where you can add/remove records and download them to a file.
  6. Any change to the list's content will affect all entities associated with it.
  7. All actions done here can be done from each of the entities you wish to associate lists with.

Uploading data records from a file: The data file must be of csv/txt type and up to 10MB in size.
Each line must contain only one value/data record. (In the csv format, only the first column will be reviewed and uploaded.)
Make sure your data records are in compliance with the list type.
For example: for a list of type Domain - all values should be valid domain names. Invalid domain names will be omitted as well as duplications.

List types & validations

Users can stop the validation when adding values manually to a list, in the exceptional cases where it's required.
This action can be done only for manually updating and not by uploading files of values:

  1. Press the data records row icon of your list.
  2. Press the '+'  icon, insert your new data records.
  3. Press the 'Disable Validation' button.
The values are now part of the list.

We recommend using the disabling validation with caution and avoid it if possible.
