Events Geo Heatmap (DSP)

Visualize exactly where your campaign events, such as impressions, clicks, or conversions, by generating interactive heatmaps

Content

Overview

The Events Geo Heatmap is a powerful visual tool within the BI Analytics module. It allows you to move beyond raw data tables and visualize exactly where your campaign events, such as impressions, clicks, or conversions, are most concentrated. By generating interactive heatmaps, you can quickly identify high-performing regions and optimize your budget allocation based on geographic engagement.

Note: This feature requires the "Geo Location Analytics" permission. If you do not see this tab, please contact your account administrator.

How to Generate a Heatmap

  1. Navigate to the Tab: Open the BI Analytics module and click on the Events Geo Heatmap tab (located next to the standard GeoLocation tab).

  2. Apply Filters: To ensure your map shows relevant data, configure your filters at the top of the page.

    • Basic Filters: Date Range, Media Type, App/Site, Advertiser, Campaign, Creative.

    • Advanced Filters: Country, Region, City, Zip Code, Inventory, Publisher.

  3. Run the Report: Once your filters are set, click the "Run Report" button. The system will process your criteria and generate a standalone report.

The Report History Table

Generated reports appear in the table below the filters. This history displays the last 20 reports, with the newest on top.

  • Statistics: Quickly see a summary of how many countries, cities, or zip codes are included.

  • Action: Click Preview Map to visualize the data.

The Interactive Map

Clicking "Preview Map" replaces the table with a visual heatmap.

  • Heat Density: The color gradient indicates event density (hotter colors = higher concentration of events).

  • Tooltips: Hover your mouse over any specific "dot" or location to view detailed metrics, including:

    • Location (Country/Region/City/Zip)

    • Impressions & Video Impressions

    • Clicks

    • Conversions

To return to your list of reports, click the "Hide Heatmap" button at the top of the map view.

The Map link

Clicking the 'Copy URL to clipboard' icon in the action column of the map row , will produce a link to the Map that you can send to your team members and partners if needed.

Important Notes

  • Historical Data: This tool visualizes historical performance data; it does not provide real-time streaming analytics.

  • Single Report View: Maps represent a single report run. To compare different criteria (e.g., Mobile vs. Desktop), you will need to run two separate reports.
