Overview
Analytics users are special login accounts that provide limited dashboard access to specific partners in your DSP account. These users can only view analytics data for the advertisers and inventory associated with their designated business partner - they cannot see other clients' data or access campaign management features.
Primary Use Cases:
- Client Reporting: Give advertiser clients access to their campaign performance data
- Partner Analytics: Allow inventory partners to view their traffic and revenue metrics
- Team Collaboration: Provide team members with read-only access to specific accounts
- Vendor Oversight: Let third-party vendors monitor performance for accounts they manage
How Analytics Users Work
Access Limitations
What Analytics Users CAN Access:
- Analytics module and reporting dashboard
- Performance data for their associated business partner only
- Historical data and trend analysis for their accounts
- Export capabilities for their data
What Analytics Users CANNOT Access:
- Campaign creation or editing
- Budget management or changes
- Targeting or creative modifications
- Data from other business partners
- Account settings or user management
Business Partner Association Requirement
Why Business Partners Are Required: Every analytics user must be linked to a specific business partner entity. This association determines exactly which data they can view.
How It Works:
- Business Partner contains associated advertisers and/or inventory
- The Analytics User is linked to that business partner
- User sees only data from advertisers/inventory in their business partner
- Complete data isolation from other business partners in your account
Creating Analytics Users
Method 1: From Users Module (Recommended)
Step 1: Access User Creation
- Go to Users Module → Analytics Users tab
- Click the '+' icon in the top-right corner of the table grid
- "New Analytics User" form will open
Step 2: Complete User Information
- Name: Full name of the person who will use this account
- Email Address: Where login credentials and notifications will be sent
- Business Partner: Select which business partner this user should be associated with
Step 3: Send Invitation
- Click the 'Invite' button
- User receives onboarding email with login instructions
- User can set up their password through the email link
Method 2: From the Business Partners Module
When to Use This Method:
- When you're already working in a specific business partner's details
- When setting up multiple users for the same business partner
- For quick user addition during business partner setup
How to Access:
- Go to Business Partners Module
- Use the "Add Analytics User" row action from the business partner grid
- Follow the same form completion process

Managing Existing Analytics Users
Password Reset
When to Use: User forgot password or needs security reset
How to Reset:
- Find the user in the Analytics Users table
- Click the 'Lock' icon in the Actions column
- Generate a new password for the user
- Provide new credentials to the user
Best Practice: Consider having users reset their passwords through the login screen when possible for security.
Magic Link (Login as User)
Purpose: View the dashboard exactly as the analytics user sees it for troubleshooting or training
How to Use:
- Click the 'Login' icon in the Actions column for the user
- Important: Copy the link and open it in an incognito/private browser window
- This prevents conflicts with your admin permissions
- You'll see exactly what data and interface the user has access to
Security Note: This feature should only be used for legitimate support, training, or troubleshooting purposes.
Remove Analytics User
When to Remove:
- User no longer needs access
- The business relationship has ended
- Security concerns require immediate access revocation
How to Remove:
- Find the user in the Analytics Users table
- Click the 'Remove User' icon in the Actions column
- Confirm removal action
- User loses dashboard access immediately
Important: Removing a user is permanent - you'll need to create a new analytics user if access is needed again.
Analytics User Management Best Practices
Planning and Organization
Before Creating Users:
- Ensure the business partner is properly set up with the correct advertiser/inventory associations
- Verify what data the user should have access to
- Confirm the user's email address is accurate and accessible
Naming Conventions:
- Use clear, professional names
- Include company/role context if helpful (e.g., "John Smith - Acme Corp")
- Maintain consistent naming across your account
Security and Access Control
Regular Access Review:
- Audit analytics users quarterly
- Remove access for users who no longer need it
- Verify business partner associations are still accurate
Password Management:
- Encourage users to choose strong passwords
- Reset passwords if security concerns arise
- Use the magic link feature sparingly and only for legitimate purposes
Troubleshooting Common Issues
User Can't Log In:
- Verify the email address is correct in the user record
- Check if the onboarding email was received (check spam folder)
- Reset password if needed
- Ensure user is still active (not removed)
User Sees Wrong Data:
- Verify the business partner association is correct
- Check that advertisers/inventory are correctly associated with the business partner
- Use a magic link to confirm what the user sees
- Review business partner setup for accuracy
User Sees No Data:
- Ensure the business partner has active advertisers or inventory associated
- Verify campaigns are running and generating data
- Check date ranges in the analytics dashboard
- Confirm business partner associations are saved correctly
Magic Link Not Working:
- Ensure you're using an incognito/private browser window
- Check for browser extension conflicts
- Try a different browser if issues persist
- Verify the user account is still active
Integration with Business Partners
Automatic Data Scope
When business partners are modified, analytics user access automatically updates:
- Add advertisers/inventory to business partner → User sees new data
- Remove associations → User loses access to that data
- Pause business partner → User temporarily loses all access
- Archive business partner → User loses access until restoration
Coordination Requirements
When Setting Up Analytics Users:
- Ensure business partner structure matches your reporting needs
- Plan business partner associations before creating analytics users
- Consider future changes in business relationships
Best Practice: Design your business partner structure with analytics user access in mind from the beginning.
