# How to Set Up Inventory Pricing

*Availability: PE accounts and DSP accounts at the PRO account level*

## **Overview**

The **Pricing** tab lets you manage the pricing preferences for a specific Inventory when creating or editing it.

You can use this tab to:

* Override the account-level pricing settings.
* Select the Inventory’s pricing method.
* Configure the general Bid Floor.
* Create granular Bid Floor Rules.
* Use the Pricing Simulator to review calculated prices and profit.

If Inventory-level pricing is not configured, the default account-level pricing settings apply.

Campaigns associated with the Inventory use its pricing settings unless **Custom Campaign Pricing** overrides the **Inventory pricing** at the campaign level.

* For DSP accounts, only the Bid Floors management feature is available.
* PE accounts support both Inventory pricing management and Bid Floors management.

## **Pricing Terminology**

| **Term** | **Definition** |
| ------------------------------ | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Bid Floor | The minimum bid amount the Inventory partner accepts. It can be included in the incoming request or configured in the Inventory’s Pricing tab. |
| Active Bid Floor | The Bid Floor applied to an incoming request. It is the higher of the applicable configured Bid Floor and the Bid Floor included in the request. |
| Bid Price | The price returned to the Inventory partner in the bid response. |
| Advertiser Requested Bid Floor | The Bid Floor sent to the Advertiser partner when requesting a bid. |

## **Pricing Hierarchy**

Pricing can be configured at three levels:

| **Level** | **Application** |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Account | Defines the default pricing settings for the account under **Settings > General**. These settings can be overridden at the Inventory or Campaign level. |
| Inventory | Overrides the account defaults for a specific Inventory. These settings apply to campaigns connected to the Inventory unless overridden at the Campaign level. |
| Campaign | Uses the pricing settings of the connected Inventory by default. Selecting **Custom Campaign Pricing** applies campaign-specific pricing instead. |

When a campaign is connected to an individual Inventory or an Inventory group, you can:

* Keep the default Inventory pricing. The pricing settings of each connected Inventory apply.
* Select **Custom Campaign Pricing**. The campaign’s pricing settings override the relevant Inventory settings.

## **Configuring the Pricing Method**

The available pricing fields depend on whether **Post-Bid Revenue Share** is enabled.

### **Post-Bid Revenue Share Enabled**

When **Post-Bid Revenue Share** is enabled, the pricing method is based on a revenue-sharing arrangement with the Inventory partner.

The calculation occurs after the Advertiser partner returns a Bid Price.

The Bid Price returned to the Inventory is the higher of:

* The Minimum Bid Floor.
* The calculated revenue-share amount.

#### **Minimum Bid Floor**

The Minimum Bid Floor determines the minimum Inventory revenue for each incoming request, based on the Active Bid Floor.

The Active Bid Floor is the higher of:

* The Bid Floor defined by the applicable Inventory Bid Floor Rule.
* The Bid Floor included in the incoming Inventory request.

The following calculation options are available:

1. **% Above Bid Floor:** Adds a defined percentage to the Active Bid Floor.
2. **Fixed Inventory Revenue ($):** Uses a fixed Inventory revenue amount.
3. **Fixed Lift Above Floor ($):** Adds a fixed amount to the Active Bid Floor.

#### **Asking Price Factor**

The Asking Price Factor determines the Advertiser Requested Bid Floor.

The Advertiser Requested Bid Floor is calculated by adding the selected Asking Price Factor to the Inventory Minimum Bid Floor.

The following options are available:

1. **Percentage Margin:** Adds a percentage to the Inventory Minimum Bid Floor.
2. **Fixed Margin ($):** Adds a fixed amount to the Inventory Minimum Bid Floor.
3. **Post-Bid Revenue Share:** Defines the platform’s percentage of the Bid Price returned by the Advertiser.

Under the Post-Bid Revenue Share option, the revenue-share percentage determines how the returned Bid Price is divided between the platform and the Inventory partner.

If the calculated Inventory revenue exceeds the Minimum Bid Floor, the excess is returned to the Inventory. If the Minimum Bid Floor is higher, it is returned instead.

### **Post-Bid Revenue Share Disabled**

When **Post-Bid Revenue Share** is disabled, Inventory revenue is calculated using the selected **Supply Revenue Calculation Method** and **Margin**.

#### **Supply Revenue Calculation Method**

The following methods are available:

**% Above Bid Floor**

The Bid Price returned to the Inventory is calculated as:

**Inventory Bid Floor + configured percentage**

The Inventory Bid Floor can be included in the incoming request or configured in the Inventory’s Pricing tab.

**Fixed Supply Revenue ($)**

The Bid Price returned to the Inventory is the fixed amount configured in this field.

The fixed amount must be at least equal to the Inventory Bid Floor for a bid to take place.

**Fixed Lift Above Floor ($)**

The Bid Price returned to the Inventory is calculated as:

**Inventory Bid Floor + fixed amount**

**Revenue Share (%)**

The Bid Price returned to the Inventory is calculated as:

**Advertiser Bid Price − Revenue Share**

The Revenue Share represents the percentage deducted from the Advertiser Bid Price before the remaining amount is returned to the Inventory partner.

#### **Margin**

The Margin determines the addition applied to the calculation of the Advertiser Requested Bid Floor.

The following options are available:

1. **Percentage Margin:** The addition to the calculated Inventory revenue is calculated as a percentage.
2. **Fixed Margin ($):** A fixed amount is added to the calculated Inventory revenue.

The Advertiser Requested Bid Floor is calculated as:

**Calculated Inventory Revenue + Margin**

***

## **Configuring Bid Floor Rules**

Use the **Bid Floors** section to define granular Bid Floor Rules for the Inventory.

When configuring these rules:

* A Bid Floor included in an incoming request takes precedence when it is higher than the configured floor.
* Account-level pricing settings apply unless a relevant granular Bid Floor Rule is defined.
* Rules are evaluated by priority and granularity.
* A higher Priority value gives the rule higher priority.
* If no relevant granular rule is found, the general Bid Floor applies.
* If two or more Bid Floor Rules are applicable, the rule with the highest CPM is used.
