# How to Manage Your Bid Price Strategy

## Availability

Bid price management is available in:

* DSP accounts.
* PE Enterprise accounts using internal DSP campaigns.

***

## Overview

This article explains how to develop and manage a bid price strategy on the Gamoshi platform.

Before selecting a bidding strategy, define the campaign’s goals and key performance indicators (KPIs). These factors will help determine the most suitable bid price for the campaign.

***

## Identify Your Campaign Goal

The campaign’s objectives and KPIs should guide its bid-price strategy.

### Performance Marketing

Performance marketing focuses on measurable results, such as:

* Return on ad spend (ROAS).
* Cost per click (CPC).
* Cost per conversion.

Performance campaigns typically aim to generate immediate engagement or actions. Their KPIs are defined according to the specific results the campaign is intended to achieve.

### Brand Marketing

Brand marketing focuses on communicating a brand’s strengths, core values, and emotional appeal.

Its primary objectives are to increase brand awareness and build trust and connection between consumers and the brand. These activities aim to create lasting impressions among the target audience.

### Optimization Model

Your campaign objective should guide your choice of Optimization Model. You can configure the model under **Campaign > General > Configure Optimization Model**.

For brand marketing campaigns, the **Reach** model is generally preferred. For performance campaigns, the **CTR** model may be more suitable. When using CTR optimization, the platform’s algorithms optimize the campaign toward the minimum CTR you define.

The CTR optimization algorithm requires sufficient impression and click data to operate effectively.

## Evaluate the Campaign’s Potential Reach

Before setting the bid price for your campaign, evaluate the campaign’s maximum potential reach based on the traffic available on the platform.

In **Analytics Module > BI**, you can review potential traffic and the average bid floors received from publishers.

Add Inventory-related dimensions to analyze average bid floors at different levels of detail, including:

* Ad Type.
* Ad Size.
* Publisher.
* App Bundle.
* Domain.

Use the average bid floor and the desired traffic volume to determine the bid price for each campaign.

See [How to Understand the Potential reach of your campaign](/gamoshi-wiki/how-to-guides/how-to-understand-the-potential-reach-of-your-campaigns.md) for more details.

***

## Define the Campaign Budget

The campaign budget, start date, and end date help determine its potential scope.

Consider these factors when deciding how much traffic the campaign should attempt to purchase and which bid price is appropriate.

***

## Review the Relevant BI Metrics

When your campaign starts running, you can review the following metrics by Country, Ad Type, Ad Size, Publisher, and Domain/App bundle:

* Clear Rate.
* Fill Rate.
* eCPM.

### Clear Rate

The Clear Rate shows the ratio of opportunities (bids being sent to the publishers) to the total number of Incoming Requests in your account.

If the campaign’s objective is to increase its share of voice across the available traffic, improving the Clear Rate can help support this goal.

### Fill Rate

The Fill Rate shows how many bids were ultimately converted into impressions or video impressions.

You can manage and optimize both Clear Rate and Fill Rate through an appropriate bid price strategy.

***

## Determine Whether Your Bid Price Is Competitive

To evaluate whether the bid price is competitive, filter the BI statistics according to the campaign’s actual targeting.

For example, if the account receives traffic from multiple countries and Ad Types:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Add the Ad Type dimension

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Apply an advanced filter for the relevant country

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Apply an Ad Size filter

Apply an **Ad Size** filter that matches the creative size intended for the campaign.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

These filters let you review bid and win ratios for traffic relevant to the campaign.

***

## Understand a Low Clear Rate

The significance of a low Clear Rate depends on the campaign’s scope and objectives. A low Clear Rate indicates the campaign is not bidding on most incoming traffic.

To investigate the cause:

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Review the Campaign filters

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Compare the Campaign filters with the incoming traffic parameters

{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Adjust the configuration

Adjust the configuration as needed to reach the relevant potential audience.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

***

## Understand a Low Fill Rate

A low Fill Rate indicates that the campaign is not winning enough publisher auctions at its current eCPM and is being outbid by other advertisers.

In this case, consider increasing the campaign’s bid price.

***

## Use Campaign Score to Test Different Bid Prices

You can associate the same creative with several campaigns that use different bid prices. This strategy allows you to compare which price point produces the best ROI, Clear Rate, and Fill Rate.

Because the platform automatically prioritizes the highest available price in the auction, assign a higher **Score** to the lower-priced campaign to prioritize it.

Prioritizing the lower-priced campaign helps determine whether it can achieve the required results before the higher-priced campaign participates. This can help identify the bid price that best balances competitive pricing and the campaign’s KPIs.
