# How to manage the pacing of a campaign

## Availability

Campaign pacing controls are available in:

* DSP accounts.
* PE Enterprise accounts using internal DSP campaigns.

## Overview

This article explains the main options available for managing campaign pacing on the Gamoshi platform.

Campaign pacing controls help manage how quickly a campaign spends its budget and delivers impressions. These controls include:

* QPS management.
* Budget capping.
* Campaign spending modes.
* Day Parting.

Together, these settings can help marketers and advertisers manage campaign spending, reach, and engagement goals.

## QPS Management

QPS (Queries Per Second) controls are available at both the Advertiser and Campaign levels. QPS management controls the volume of incoming requests available to a campaign and can therefore affect its pacing. You can edit it on the ***Capping*** ***tab*** of the Advertiser/Campaign.

QPS can be viewed as a stream of requests flowing through a pipe into the campaign:

* A wider pipe allows more requests to reach the campaign. When sufficient relevant traffic is available, this can increase impression delivery and spending.
* A narrower pipe allows fewer requests to reach the campaign, resulting in lower delivery and spend rates.

When a campaign spends too quickly, the QPS cap can reduce incoming request volume. This can make the campaign’s budget and impression caps more effective.

{% hint style="info" %}
You can adjust a campaign's QPS cap only when the campaign uses **Aggressive** spending mode. The default maximum is 50 QPS.

## Budget Management

Gamoshi supports several budget caps for managing campaign pacing.

### Overall Advertiser or Campaign Budget

The overall budget is the highest-level budget cap and defines the general spending limit for the applicable Advertiser or Campaign.

### Daily Budget

The Daily Budget limits campaign spending per day. Setting a realistic Daily Budget is recommended to support more even pacing throughout the campaign period.

### Hourly Budget

The Hourly Budget limits campaign spending per hour. It can help prevent the campaign from exhausting its Daily Budget too early in the day.

### Campaign Budget Requirements

At the Campaign level, you can configure budget limits that are mandatory; you should at least configure:

* **Total Budget, Start Date, and End Date.**

**Or**

* **Daily Budget or Hourly Budget.**

The campaign is paced according to these settings and the selected spending mode.

## Campaign Spending Modes

The Campaign spending mode can be selected under:

**Campaign > General > Budget**

Two spending modes are available: **Regular** and **Aggressive**.

### Regular Spending Mode

Regular is the default spending mode. It paces campaign spending across the campaign’s active hours according to the defined budget.

Under **Campaign > Capping**, the **Max QPS** field is disabled and shows **"Managed QPS"**. The platform automatically manages the Campaign QPS cap according to the required budget, calculated per hour.

### Aggressive Spending Mode

Aggressive spending mode removes pacing limits and attempts to spend the campaign budget as quickly as possible.

Under **Campaign > Capping**, the **Max QPS** field becomes editable. Its default value is 50 queries per second.

You can adjust this value according to the intended pacing and the volume of incoming requests that match the Campaign filters.

## Day Parting

Day Parting lets you define the specific hours during which a Campaign is active each day of the week. The timezone for the day parting is the timezone defined for the account in the General settings.

This setting can help:

* Deliver the Campaign during the hours most relevant to its intended audience.
* Manage daily spending and pacing.
* Support the Campaign’s reach and performance goals.

To configure Day Parting, navigate to:

**Campaign > General > Schedule**
