# How to Create Native Banner Creatives

**Availability:** All DSP account levels and PE Enterprise accounts using DSP Campaigns.

## Overview

The **Native Banner** creative type allows you to run native advertising aligned with Google Native Ads specifications.

Unlike standard Banner creatives, Native Banner creatives contain separate image and text assets. The Publisher assembles these assets according to the design and layout of its site or application. Native creatives use image ratios, not fixed ad sizes. The publisher's Native protocol implementation determines placement.

## Creating a Native Banner Creative

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Open the Creative Creation Form

Access the Creative Library from either:

* **Advertisers Module > Creatives**, or
* The Advertiser’s **Creatives** tab.

Click **New Creative**.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Select the Media Type

In the **Media Type** field, select **Native**.

The **Native Asset Input Form** is displayed.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Enable **Run Native in Banner Spot**

By default, **Run Native in Banner Spot** is enabled. It lets Native creatives deliver on standard banner ad units.

Native Studio automatically generates banners for standard banner inventory.

Select an **Ad Size** filter that matches your image's aspect ratio for the banner placements when the switch is ***Active***.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Add the Native Assets

Complete the required text fields and upload the applicable image assets according to the specifications below.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Select a Styling Preset

Modify the Native ad's appearance by picking an alternate styling preset, which controls its fonts, colors, and visual presentation.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Save the Creative

Review the entered information and click **Save**.

You can't save the creative if a required field is missing or an uploaded image doesn't meet the validation requirements.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Main Image

When you upload an image that matches any ratio listed in the asset specifications, a prompt will offer to automatically generate the remaining ratios. You can accept the automatic generation or upload each ratio manually, with the option to replace auto-generated images at any time.

To ensure broad compatibility across various SSPs and publisher sites, provide as many aspect ratios as possible. The system automatically selects the optimal ratio in real time based on the incoming Native request.

***

## Styling

Once you enter the text assets and upload the main image for your native creative, you can apply a styling preset. Selecting a preset updates the visual formatting, including fonts and color schemes, while providing a live preview of the native ad for each style.

***

## Asset Validation

The platform validates the creative’s required fields and image assets.

The creative cannot be saved when:

* A required field is empty.
* The Main Image does not use a supported aspect ratio.
* The Logo or Icon does not use a 1:1 aspect ratio.
* An image does not meet the minimum resolution.
* An image exceeds the maximum file size.
* An unsupported image format is uploaded.
* A text field exceeds its character limit.

When an image fails validation, an error message is displayed.

***

## Previewing the Creative

After uploading the assets, use the **Generic Preview** to confirm that the following elements were loaded correctly:

* Title.
* Body or Description.
* Main Image.
* Logo or Icon.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Important:** The Generic Preview is a representative wireframe. The final appearance of the ad varies by Publisher site or application because the Publisher determines the layout and styling.
{% endhint %}

When the **Run Native in Banner Spot** setting is enabled, select the appropriate banner sizes in the ad size filter section. This allows you to generate and preview banner ad variations based on your Native creative for each selected size.
