# How to create a PE Campaign

*Availability: PE Enterprise accounts*

## Overview

This comprehensive, step-by-step walkthrough outlines how to set up and adjust a programmatic exchange campaign. Designed specifically for advertisers using server-to-server (S2S) integrations rather than an "Internal" framework, these PE (Programmatic Exchange) campaigns serve clients that do not run direct DSP initiatives. Instead, they manage programmatic efforts that bridge demand-side DSPs and SSPs with supply-side publishers and SSPs. Supported S2S setups encompass RTB integrations, Server Header bidding integrations, and custom S2S protocols.

**Campaign configuration includes the following tabs:**

1. General.
2. Filtering and Targeting.
3. Capping.
4. Lists.
5. Audience.

***

## There are two types of PE campaigns:

* Automatic
* Regular

The 'Type' column within the Campaigns table grid displays the designated campaign type.

***

## Automatic default campaigns

When you create an advertiser with the S2S integration type (RTB/Server HB), the system creates an automatic default campaign. Each PE advertiser can have one automatic default campaign.

You can edit every setting except the campaign name and type. The campaign includes an empty default automatic audience. Add or remove virtual audiences, regular audiences, specific inventories, and inventory business partners at any time.

***

## Regular campaigns

You can create multiple ***Regular*** campaigns alongside the automatic default campaign for S2S advertisers. You can customize and duplicate regular campaigns.

Set the target audience using one of these options:

* A custom audience from the ***Audience Module***
* A system-provided virtual audience, such as "All Traffic," "All site traffic," or "All in-app traffic"
* A specific inventory

View the type in the campaigns grid or the advertiser’s **Campaigns** tab.

| ------------------ | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Name | Enter a name that identifies the campaign. |
| Advertiser Partner | Select the relevant advertiser from the list. When the campaign is created from an advertiser’s form, this field is automatically populated. |
| Inventory/Audience |
Depending on the campaign type, configure the Inventory/Audience field as follows:

Automatic Campaigns: Choose the appropriate inventory entities by clicking the link in the Inventory column of the campaign row, or via the campaign's Audience tab.

Regular Campaigns: Select either an Audience or an Inventory partner from the designated field.
|
| Start Date | Defines when the campaign begins. The current date is selected by default, but you can select a future date. When a future date is selected, the campaign remains in the **Pending** state until that date. |

After saving the General tab, the campaign’s remaining configuration tabs become available.

### Optional Fields

You can configure any of the following optional fields:

| **Field**                               | **Description**                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                  |
| --------------------------------------- | ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Filter by Seat & Deal ID | When enabled, the campaign participates only in requests containing the relevant Seat ID and Deal ID. Should be used to target specific deals made with specific SSPs/Publishers. The switch is disabled by default. |
| Inventory Deal ID and Inventory Seat ID | Define the Deal ID and Seat ID used to filter traffic. By default, the Deal ID is the Gamoshi Campaign ID, and the Seat ID is the Gamoshi Account ID. |
| Activate Day Parting | By default, this switch is off, allowing the campaign to run non-stop. When you enable it, you can select the specific days and hours during which the campaign runs. The schedule will follow the account timezone that you configured in the general settings. |
| End Date | Defines when the campaign ends. When the selected date is reached, the campaign’s state changes to **Finished**. |
| Total Budget | Defines the campaign’s total budget in dollars. When no Total Budget is configured, the Total Budget is unlimited. When the budget is fully spent, the campaign’s state changes to **Finished**. |
| Daily Budget | Defines the campaign’s maximum daily budget in dollars. When no Daily Budget is configured, it is unlimited. When the limit is reached, the campaign’s state changes to **Capped** until the next day. |
| Hourly Budget | Defines the campaign’s maximum hourly budget in dollars. When no Hourly Budget is configured, it is unlimited. When the limit is reached, the campaign’s state changes to **Capped** until the next hour. |

### Configure the Optimization Model

The **Optimization Model** determines the campaign’s primary serving logic and the algorithm's impression prioritization.

#### Reach

**Reach** is the default optimization model. It maximizes the number of unique users reached by distributing impressions as widely as possible.

#### CTR Mode

**CTR Mode** prioritizes users and placements that are more likely to engage with the ad. The system aims to meet or exceed the configured Target CTR.

When selecting CTR Mode, enter the minimum Target CTR in the provided field. The default is **0.1%**.

{% hint style="info" %}
Important note: For CTR mode to work, ensure your programmatic campaign can measure clicks.
{% endhint %}

### Configure Payment Events

The **Payment Events** section allows you to override the system’s default payment event for the Advertiser partner, the Inventory partner, or both.

For details about the available options, refer to the [**Payment Events**](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/available-payments-events.md) guide.

### Configure the Pricing Method

The **Pricing Method** section allows you to override the pricing method, pricing values, or both at the campaign level.

Supply-side pricing is applied by default.

When **you select Custom Campaign Pricing**, use the **Post-Bid Revenue Share** switch to determine which pricing method applies to the campaign.

You can also use the **Pricing Calculation Simulator** to simulate potential profit at different bid-floor values before selecting a calculation method.

For complete details about the available calculation methods, refer to the [**Pricing**](/gamoshi-wiki/how-to-guides/how-to-setup-inventory-pricing.md) guide.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Configure Filtering and Targeting

Use the **Filtering and Targeting** tab to configure campaign-level filters.

### Add or Remove Filters

* Click **Add Rule** to create a filter.
* Click **Delete** to remove an existing filter.

For the complete list of available filters, refer to the [**Filters**](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/advertiser-and-campaign-filters.md) guide.

### Advertiser-Level Filters

When the Advertiser partner has high-level filters, they appear in the **Advertiser Filters** section above the **Campaign Filters** section.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Important:** You can't edit advertiser-level filters from the campaign. They always take precedence over campaign-level filters.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Configure Capping

Use the **Capping** tab to configure the campaign’s delivery limits.

Available capping options include:

* QPS(= Queries per second) Limit; empty = Unlimited.
* Impressions.
* Clicks.
* User frequency cap.
* Device frequency cap.

For details about the available capping metrics, refer to the [**Capping**](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/capping-metrics.md) guide.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Configure Lists

Use the **Lists** tab to associate a List with the campaign or create a new one.

### Associate an Existing List

1. Click the **+** button in the top-right corner of the table.
2. Select the required List.
3. Save the association.

### Create a New List

1. Click the **+** button in the top-right corner of the table.
2. Click the **Here** link in the form.
3. Create and save the new List.

A List created from the campaign is automatically associated with that campaign.

For more details, refer to the [**Lists Guide**](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/lists-types.md).
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Audience Configuration

The **Audience** tab provides visibility into the campaign's inventory components.

For a PE campaign, the audience options include:

* An audience entity (either Regular or Automatic). Automatic campaigns are automatically provisioned with a default *Automatic* audience. Regular audiences can be built via the Audience Module, where you can link various inventory entities (e.g., setting up a group like 'Display Tier 1 in-app Inventory' and attaching it to specific inventories).
* A system-provided virtual audience, such as ‘All Traffic’, ‘All Site Traffic’, or ‘All in-app Traffic’.
* A designated inventory entity.

If the chosen inventory is structured as an Audience group, you can manage and modify its associated inventory members directly in this tab.

See here for a detailed guide to [Audience Management](/gamoshi-wiki/core-entities/internal-audiences.md).

### Managing Inventory Members (Addition & Removal)

1. To include items in the Audience group, choose one or multiple inventory members from the **Available** section.
2. To exclude items from the group, select one or more inventory members in the **Selected** section.
3. If a specific member is not visible, use the search bars above each section.
4. Select **Save Changes**.
5. Select **Confirm**.

{% hint style="info" %}
**Key Note:** Because a single Audience group can be linked to multiple campaigns, any modifications made to its inventory members will instantly impact all connected campaigns.
{% endhint %}
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}
