# Click URL overview

The Click URL macro contains the target URL that redirects users after they click on a creative.

{% hint style="info" %}
Some third-party ad servers require encoded (escaped) URL macros.
{% endhint %}

## Encoded URL

If the ad server redirects to a destination URL/landing page, use Gamoshi's \[ENCODED\_CLICK\_URL] macro instead of \[CLICK\_URL]. This is also known as an escaped URL.

{% stepper %}
{% step %}

### Register the click

Gamoshi registers the click in its click-tracking URL.
{% endstep %}

{% step %}

### Redirect the user

The user is redirected to the landing/target page URL.
{% endstep %}
{% endstepper %}

## Double-Encoded URL

When the destination URL value needs to be properly escaped both after the macro and within the destination URL itself, use Gamoshi's \[ENCODED\_2\_CLICK\_URL] macro.

## Additional Parameters

You can add additional parameters to a creative's Click URL macro, per your advertiser's, ad server's, or SSP's requirements.

The collected data is used to:

* Decrease discrepancies
* Analyze data
* Optimize creative fill rate
* Store data on site visitors and their devices for better targeting (most common use)
