# Campaigns

***Availability:** DSP accounts and PE Enterprise accounts.*

## Overview

Campaigns connect an advertiser to traffic sources and define how its advertising activity is delivered.

Each campaign has its own configuration, including:

* Inventory source.
* Schedule.
* Pricing and budget.
* Optimization Model.
* Targeting.
* Capping.
* Lists.
* Associated creatives (for DSP campaigns).

Campaigns can be created and managed from an advertiser’s **Campaigns** tab or from the central **Campaigns** screen.

{% hint style="info" %}
An advertiser must have at least one active campaign to be eligible to receive traffic.
{% endhint %}

For more information about the relationship between Business Partners, Advertisers, Campaigns, and Creatives, refer to the [Entity Structure and Campaign Strategy Guide](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/gamoshi-dsp-entity-structure-and-campaign-strategy-guide.md).

## Supported Campaign Types

The available campaign types depend on the account type and integration configuration.

### DSP Campaigns

DSP campaigns are available to DSP and PE Enterprise accounts that run advertising activity via the **Internal** integration type.

For setup instructions, refer to [How to Create a DSP Campaign](/gamoshi-wiki/how-to-guides/how-to-create-a-dsp-campaign.md).

### Programmatic Exchange Campaigns

Programmatic Exchange campaigns are S2S campaigns available to PE Enterprise accounts using advertiser integrations such as Server Header Bidding or RTB.

Two Programmatic Exchange campaign options are available:

| **Campaign option**   | **Description**                                                                                                                                                                |
| --------------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Automatic PE Campaign | Created automatically when an S2S advertiser is created. It can be edited or paused and can connect to multiple traffic paths through an automatically managed Audience group. |
| Regular PE Campaign | Created manually in addition to the automatic campaign. It can be edited, paused, duplicated, and associated directly with Inventory entities. |

For setup instructions, refer to [How to Create a PE Campaign](/gamoshi-wiki/how-to-guides/how-to-create-a-pe-campaign.md).

## Campaign Configuration

Begin by configuring and saving the campaign’s **General** tab.

The General tab contains the campaign’s primary configuration:

* Inventory source.
* Scheduling.
* Pricing and budget.
* Optimization Model.
* Campaign labels.

After saving the General tab, you can use the additional tabs to apply campaign-level controls in addition to the advertiser’s settings.

## Additional Settings

### Filtering and Targeting

**Purpose:** Apply targeting rules to the individual campaign in addition to the advertiser-level targeting.

Campaign-level targeting is combined with advertiser-level targeting. Both sets of rules apply when evaluating traffic.

Audience segmentation, filters, and Location targeting constitute campaign targeting.

For complete details, refer to the [Filtering and Targeting Guide](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/advertiser-and-campaign-filters.md).

### Capping

**Purpose:** Control how much and how quickly the campaign can spend and deliver, including user and device frequency caps.

Campaign-level caps apply in addition to advertiser-level caps. When both levels define a limit, the more restrictive limit applies.

For complete details, refer to the [Capping Guide](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/capping-metrics.md).

### Creatives

**Availability:** DSP campaigns.

**Purpose:** Associate ad creatives with the campaign.

Only active creatives associated with the campaign can serve when the campaign is running.

{% hint style="info" %}
A DSP campaign must have at least one active associated creative before it can serve ads.
{% endhint %}

For complete details, refer to the [Creatives Guide](/gamoshi-wiki/core-entities/creatives.md).

### Lists

**Purpose:** Associate targeting Lists with the campaign to refine its eligible traffic.

Use campaign-level Lists to target requirements that apply only to a specific campaign, rather than to every campaign belonging to the advertiser.

For complete details, refer to the [Lists Guide](/gamoshi-wiki/general-information/lists-types.md).

## Campaign Labels

The Labels bar is located at the top of the campaign's General tab.

You can assign labels to a campaign to streamline management and organization. These labels appear in the campaign Table grid and serve as dimensions and filters in the Analytics module. To manage campaign labels, go to **Advertiser Module > Labels**.

For additional details, see the [Campaign Labels guide](/gamoshi-wiki/how-to-guides/how-to-create-and-use-campaign-labels.md).

## Understanding Campaign States

A campaign’s state reflects its current configuration, schedule, and delivery limits.

| **State** | **Meaning**                                                                                              |
| --------- | -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| Running | The campaign is active, within its configured date range, and eligible to serve. |
| Pending | The campaign has a future Start Date or is within the five-minute pending period following its creation. |
| Stopped | Day Parting is enabled, and the current time is outside the campaign’s selected days or hours. |
| Finished | The campaign has reached its End Date. |
| Capped | The campaign has reached an Hourly, Daily, or Total Budget limit. |

### Capped Campaign Behavior

* **Hourly Budget reached:** The campaign can resume in the next hour.
* **Daily Budget reached:** The campaign can resume on the next day.
* **Total Budget reached:** The campaign remains capped until its Total Budget is increased.

## Targeting Inheritance

Campaign-level settings add to the settings configured at the advertiser level.

| **Configuration** | **How settings are applied** |
| ----------------- | ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ |
| Filters | Advertiser filters and Campaign filters are combined. |
| Capping | Advertiser caps and Campaign caps both apply; the more restrictive limit takes precedence. |
| Lists | Advertiser Lists and Campaign Lists are combined. |

{% hint style="info" %}
Campaign-level settings do not replace advertiser-level settings.
{% endhint %}

***

## Monitoring Campaign Delivery

Use the **Totals Bar** in the campaign’s General tab to monitor delivery alongside the Analytics module.

Available information includes:

* **Total Spend:** The campaign’s accumulated lifetime spend, covering up to the previous two years.
* **Today’s Spend:** The amount spent during the current day.
* **Impressions:** The number of impressions recorded today.
* **Video Impressions:** The number of video impressions recorded today.

***

## Duplicating a Campaign

Duplicating a campaign creates a new campaign containing the original campaign’s settings, configurations, and associated entities.

After duplication:

* You are redirected to the new campaign’s edit form.
* The duplicated campaign is created with a **Paused** status.
* You can review and modify its configuration before activating it.

***

## Inventory and Audience Management

Inventory and Audience management options are relevant to accounts that use external Inventory sources in addition to GamoshiX marketplace traffic.

When a campaign uses an [**Internal Audience Group**](/gamoshi-wiki/core-entities/internal-audiences.md) as its Inventory source, you can add or remove Audience members directly from the campaign.

{% hint style="info" %}
You cannot modify Virtual Audiences from the campaign.
{% endhint %}
